It’s the antioxidant potential of the catechin EGCG in green tea that possess thermogenic properties (the production of body heat) & promotes fat oxidation. EGCG has been found to increase basal energy expenditure by 4%.
Green tea may not be relied on purely as a weight loss treatment, however the consumption of green tea is safe, non-toxic & tasty to consume. It can also be beneficial for many ailments.
You would need to drink 6-7 cups per day in addition to exercising…or take a green tea extract.
